This is MkII version and I've improved the detailing and exposures on all of the frames and improved the alignment between frames. The filesize has gone up to 3.8Mb :( again it will play better if you hit the refresh page after it has loaded

I will move the original [link] into scraps shortly

This was made in Photoshop using the animation toolbar and then converted to Flash

You can download a couple of free ones, I'd recommend any of the Newgrounds ones, they are easy to customize.

If you want I'll make you a custom one featuring one of your pictures or something :)

holy crap mate! every time I ever try to photograph the moon it comes out a blur. doesn't matter what kind of camera I use or how long I expose it. great job

The moon is lit by the sun and you will find shooting in automatic the exposure will be fooled by the dark sky and completely blow out the moon. Shoot in manual exposure mode and try something around 1/60sec@f8 iso 400, it maybe even faster than that.

Gorgeous! I saw a bit of it, but I was plastered at the time so it's not particularly fresh in my memory lol. Love that red bit...

That's beautiful. I actually did get to see it but was working at the time so it was so very nice to run across this today! I had to miss the total eclipse portion. I was very sad - but this is awesome! Makes me feel like I didn't miss anything! Thank you so much!

Very good idea! How did you get the moon that big without much quality loss? Unsharp mask or something?
