Beautiful photograph of a beautiful bird.

Incredibly, despite living in a rundown inner city with barely a speck of green to be seen, I occasionally get a pair of jays visiting my postage-stamp sized garden. You've captured their natural wariness perfectly here.

Beautiful photograph <3 The little flash of blue is fantastic, and you've managed to capture it in a wonderful pose =)

Since you requested critique: the difference in focus between the head and body of the bird and its tail feels a little jarring. Could just be me =)

Either way, absolutely stunning.

Beautiful! I came across three jays at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough, I think it's the first time I've ever knowingly spotted them. Despite their shyness I managed to creep real close to one of them, I just wish I had a camera to snap it with!

We have one of those in our garden for years already :D he always chases the other birds from our bird feeder and steals the peanuts :D they sure are shy, but I really like them. This photograph is very beautiful, how sharp it is! :+fav:

Nice picture, I was fishing last year at the river in my gallery and heard an animal in distress, I looked up and it was a Jay taking a young Rook from it's nest, it flew to the next tree, battered it to death and gulped it down and flew off. Never had a camera with me! Have you ever been to Ty Croes on Anglesey?

I love jay birds. I've seen a jay bird 2 years ago at my place of work, he was in love with his own mirror image. :D

Fantastic capture. How did you ever get that close? You're right they are very shy, its so difficult to get close. I'm a real corvidophile so I love this photograph
