You've added the flash very well, although the light is still a little hard it is relatively subtle.

Good one there Kev. Agree with you, most purist bird photographers would argue that using natural lighting is best, but from a technical and artistic pt. of view, the shot is great. 1/30s...wow...IS is great huh? ;)

very sweet. she's lovely! nice detail on the feathers. saw one of these for the first time the other day- but for some reason it was flying into the depths of a laurel hedge rather than a riverbank. they really are beautiful birds

I do like this, the detail is amazing, but I can't help but wish the background had a little more depth to it. The single color while it helps to isolate the subject it is also kinda flat.
