rather than give up because the weather was absolutely pants this moring I decided to play.
a 1/10second exposure on these Mandarin Ducks/Drakes gave some impression of the rain bucketing down. Full frame image taken with a Canon 600mm prime lens on a !D MkII N camera. Thankfully both are fully weatherproofed
I like how you've captured the rain mid-drop, and the clarity of the ducks. The few bunched together and the lone one facing away make it a nice composition too. Also like the different levels of alertness among the ducks.
"the weather was absolutely pants", eh? Good thing that claim was illustrated; otherwise I wouldn't have known what it meant, although I would have guessed it wasn't good.
Very nice shot of one of my favorite duck species. I really like the effect the slow shutter speed had on the rain, too. But, the tilt bothers me. I'm assuming this pond wasn't actually running downhill to the right.
Well, I've been known to miss it in my own shots, at times, too. I guess we get too focused on the cool stuff and forget about the not-so-cool stuff for a moment.
