I've been known to sculpt birds.......I was even granted a DD for a male snowy owl I sculpted some years before........this creature and shot is just plain too great to pass up!! Thanks for sharing, my friend.............jss Stop by my site and see what I was able to come up with lately. I was able to sculpt a piece and it only took me 3 years after my heart attack and several strokes. Hopefully you'll get a kick out of it..........j
I love how one pupil is more dilated than the other. Incredible capture mate, although it were me, I would blur the vertical plants in the foreground a bit to keep the owl as the prime focus of the shot.
Kev.. I've got about 6000 shots thru my 40D and I still love it everytime I take it out.. Really nice owl shots. Funny I've had one in my woods behind my house all week. I can hear him, but its always too dark to see him.
Wow, what a stunning capture. I think the subject definately makes it thus. It's eyes are so amazingly bright given the surroundings and lighting. They're brilliant! It looks as though he had zeroed in on you and was coming for ya.
Another beautiful picture. The hawks here are not nearly as successful with my voles and gophers though they watch constantly. I have yet to be present when they catch anything, though they make half hearted attempts at the local pigeons.
This isn't a captive owl is it Kev? I thought at first it was. I've lost count of the amount of weekends I've spent looking for an Owl, any Owl to shoot. Even Bitterns are easier! Haha! Beautiful shot BTW.
