Slow Dipper by Photosbykev Slow Dipper by Photosbykev
An attempt to place the dipper in its natural habitat. A very slow shutter speed was used to blur the water. This was the only one of many images taken that wasn't spoilt by subject movement.

Canon 20D, Canon 600mm prime lens
1/8 Second at f22 iso 100

This photo is a dream for me !
I am a fly fisherman, and when I fish, I often see his birds (in french the name is Cincle Plongeurand) I try to photograph them but they are very wild birds, difficult to approach them.
Very very beautiful photo !!!!

you should, imho, increase the brightness and the contrast... to get a more bright photo... and maybe you should increse a little the saturation to make the colours more vivid! anyway great focus and subject!!

I was after the blurred water GirlInc but still after the dof to put the bird into its environment.

You managed to get a shot this crisp with a 600mm lens at 1/6 of a second? Wow, that bird must have been standing very still.

Very clever, i would never have dared to use a long shutter speed incase it moved.

Nicely done. That seems like it would be a tough shot to get. What type of camera are you using?
